 U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday a visit to the city of Petra.

The helicopter landed American president in Petra, which was chosen as one of the new seven wonders of the world, before boarding a car in a short tour of the city.

The helicopter flew American president to see the pink city carved in stone after the wind calmed down sand storm, including allowing him to do a trip lasted 55 minutes crossing the plains and mountains of Jordan.

There were fears of having to cancel Obama short trip to Petra (260 km) south of Amman due to bad weather.


The Ministry of Tourism has issued a circular to local tourism companies announced a full closure of the Pink City facilities to tourists from nine o'clock in the morning until the end of the visit of the American President of the city.

The Obama arrived in Jordan on Friday afternoon, where he met King Abdullah II and discussed with him the Syrian crisis and the issue of Syrian refugees in the Kingdom, in addition to the efforts to achieve peace in the region.

It is scheduled to leave Obama later Amman for Washington.
